zzz

hibernating blogs:

My View of the River
CruxNews.com Blogspot
Michigan Catholic
The ArisBlog
Veni Sancte Spiritus
Ordinary Time (BTW, Mr. Serafin, there's an extraneous hyphen.)

In the directory of St. Blog's Parish, the blogger in charge of Vita Brevis should be "Gregg the Obscure".
(I trust that Gerard Serafin is not implying any relationship whatsoever with Greg the Bunny.)

Links Lojinks

Links to individual posts on blogspot sites often lead to the dreaded "not found" message
or to an incorrect place on the web page.
Therefore, I strongly suggest that you check your links before publishing posts.

A different kind of link problem can be seen in the post entitled Peggy Noonan on John Paul II at Flos Carmeli.

No Mercy Here

A new blog, Atheist to a Theist (Wasn't it "Thiest" yesterday?),
is described as being "about Catholism, politics, and whatever else I find interesting."

"... without Peter's successor and the Magesterium to guard the deposit of faith ..."

There are quotations, incorrectly attributed quotations, and ...

The psychotherapist at HMS Blog ends this post thusly:

"As Mark Twain once said, "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics." "
Actually, it's "damned lies", and Benjamin Disraeli said it first.

Thinking about sex often does this to people.

Would a placebo have this side effect?

from a post dated July 26, entitled Better Living Through Chemistry, by the "man with black hat":

"Well, Greg, I tried Prozac for three weeks. I'm willing to bet a sizable amount of money,
that a placebo wouldn't give me the jitters as if I ten cups of coffee a day."

I'd have left off the final comma, but I'm more interested in where the verb (probably "drank") went.

a blogger really unclear on the concept

a post dated July 26 on Chud's Miscellaneous Thoughts begins:
"I haven't updated in a while ..."

The previous post is dated May 20!
