Likewise, "Bernard Cardinal Law" and "John Cardinal O'Connor" are incorrect.

This is a correct use of the possessive pronoun, but the name is simply Smokey Bear.

A couple of everyday errors appear at "St. Cecilia was here":

second time in about a week I've seen this error - a question ends in a question mark, simple as that:

Diocese Retort

Wonder of wonders - it appears that I have found a Catholic blog not yet listed by Gerard Serafin.

The new blog is at Diocese Report.

In a parody entitled "Author Escapes Diocese, Is Eaten by Crocodiles", Cardinal Mahoney plays a prominent role.
As I pointed out before, the correct spelling is Mahony.
As an aside, knowing how the author feels about the Cardinal, perhaps it should be spelled Baloney.

The Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown is correctly named in several places, but is also referred to as
the Diocese of Altoona- Johnson and is also misspelled in the following sentence, which contains two other errors:
"The Diocese of Altoona-Johonstown is a cespool of dissent and the effects of such widespread disobedience is making itself known."

A few more sentences have various problems:
"Apparently far off course, Rose was eaten alive by crocodiles on Monday as he tried to swim across moat of the Taj Mahoney in the Los Angeles. "
"I am amazed as I continue to read on blogs and websites how 'conservative' Catholics beleive homosexual men can become priests."
"I pray the if Fr. Judge was truly a dissident he had a conversion of heart and mind just before his horrible death."
"I also suspect that the homosexuals are behind this 'sainthood' push given his connections with dignity."

This last sentence comes from a quote from another source, so the ownership of the mistake is unknown.
"Amid the scandal threatening the Church heirarchy, the Franciscans must move carefully."

If he was paying attention, he would have noticed the post entitled " CATHOLIC AND NOT ENJOYING IT'S! ",
with the obvious error.
You will find plenty of bloopers here, but they are not mine.
Can I make it any clearer?

 
No, it's not a gay problem.

Old Reliable isn't the first, and most assuredly won't be the last person,
to find it's not always easy to distinguish between a contraction and a possessive pronoun.
In my opinion, it's an education problem.

"LA gay radio talk show host says its a gay problem (so he must be honest)."

Fr. Bryce Sibley of "A Saintly Salmagundi" has a little female trouble in a couple of posts,
namely with ""effiminate". However, he gets "effeminacy" right every time.

At least Herr Schultz (or is it the other Herr Schultz?) knows how to write badly in so many ways.
Another example was posted today at Catholic (Dim) Light:
"His point was that it is a Christian lives his life ..."

By the way, this is the second time I've noticed something awry with the links to individual posts at blog sites.
